The administration of the Deir Hafir area in Syria said the SDF terrorist group continues to block the exit of civilians through a safe humanitarian corridor, according to Syrian media, Anadolu reports.
This happened despite an extension given by the army’s operations command for civilians to leave Deir Hafir east of Aleppo, Syria, and surrounding areas.
A correspondent for Syrian Al-Ikhbariya television reported that Syrian army units and civil defense teams were deployed near a designated humanitarian corridor in the eastern province of Aleppo in preparation to receive civilians seeking to leave the Deir Hafir area.
The deployment took place near the village of Humaymah, east of Aleppo, as part of preparations to facilitate the movement of civilians through the corridor announced by the Syrian Army’s operations command, the agency added. news.
As a result, civilians were forced to leave the village of Al-Mabouja, which is administratively connected to the Deir Hafir area, using dangerous secondary and agricultural roads to reach areas controlled by the Syrian state, the report said.
In March 2025, the Syrian presidency announced an agreement to integrate the YPG/SDF terrorist organization into state institutions, reaffirming the country’s territorial unity and throwing down any attempts at separation.
In April 2025, the Syrian authorities signed a separate agreement regarding Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafieh neighborhoods, stipulating that both districts remain administrative parts of the city of Aleppo, respecting their local peculiarities.
The agreement included provisions banning armed demonstrations, limiting weapons to internal security forces only, and requiring the withdrawal of SDF military forces from the areas. east of the Euphrates in northeastern Syria.
However, authorities said the SDF has failed to fulfill the terms of these agreements.
The Syrian government has intensified efforts to restore security across the country since the overthrow of Bashar al-Assad’s regime in December 2024, after 24 years in power.
