The Basic Court in Prizren has announced a guilty verdict against the accused with the initials Sh.H., sentencing him to seven years in prison and a fine of two thousand euros for two criminal offenses of aggravated theft and one criminal offense of aggravated attempted theft.

According to the announcement of the Court, the accused was found guilty of the theft committed on January 12, 2025 in a jewelry store in Prizren, where together with a Bulgarian citizen, disguised and equipped with suitable tools, forcibly entered the bar and took a large amount of gold, silver and other valuables.

“After opening the safe, they managed to take 3 kilograms of 14 carat gold, a five lira coin, two lira coins, bracelets, a kilogram of 925 silver and a scale, causing material damage to the victim in the amount of 195 thousand euros”, says the Court announcement.

That same night, according to the judgment, the accused had attempted to commit another theft in a jeweler in Prizren, but had failed to open the safe and had left the scene.

Meanwhile, on January 23, 2025, he had forcibly entered another object, from where he had taken an Internet modem, a DVR and damaged the camera system of security.

After nine court hearings, the Court found the accused guilty.

“The Court judges him with a single sentence of imprisonment for a duration of seven years, as well as a single sentence with a fine in the amount of two thousand euros”, says the judgment.

Also, the Court has ordered that the convicted person compensate the victim in the amount of 195 thousand euros.

“The Court has ordered the accused to pay an amount equivalent to the damage of 195,000 euros or to confiscate his assets of an equivalent value”, the announcement states.

For the realization of this compensation, the Court has ordered the sale at public auction of an apartment and four seized vehicles, through the Agency for the Administration of Seized or Confiscated Property, while the measure of detention against the convicted has been continued until the full force of the verdict.
