The commander of the military wing of the Palestinian group Hamas, Izz al-Din al-Haddad, was killed in an Israeli attack on Friday evening, according to local sources, Anadolu reported.

His wife and daughter were also killed in the attack, the sources added, noting that their funeral was held in Gaza City.

Speaking to reporters, al-Haddad’s sister also confirmed his death.

More earlier, the Israeli military claimed to have killed Izz al-Din al-Haddad in an attack on Gaza City.

The development comes as the Israeli military continues daily violations of the ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, which came into effect in October 2025.

The ceasefire came after Israel’s two-year war in Gaza, which has killed more than 72,000 people and injured more than 172,000 others.
