The Secretary General of the United Nations, António Guterres, has included the Israeli occupation forces in the list of parties suspected of committing sexual violence during the conflict.

According to the annual report of the UN for 2025, cases of rape and other forms of sexual violence have been documented against Palestinians from Gaza and the occupied West Bank while detained in Israeli prisons.

The report points out. that the violations include rape, gang rape, attempted rape, violence against the genitals, forced undressing, degrading bodily controls and threats of rape.

According to the UN, 31 cases of sexual violence affecting Palestinian men, women and children have been verified. Most of the cases occurred in Israeli detention centers and prisons, including the Sde Teiman military camp and Megiddo, Ofer and Nafha prisons.

The report estimates that the documented cases represent only a fraction of actual violations, as Israeli authorities have not allowed UN investigators access to detention centers and the Gaza Strip.

The UN said many victims were prevented from reporting abuses to due to fear and threats from Israeli security agencies.

The report also criticizes the lack of legal accountability against Israeli soldiers suspected of abuse, citing the case of five Israeli reservists, against whom charges were dropped in March 2026.

In conclusion, Guterres called on Israel to immediately stop all acts of sexual violence, allow independent investigations and ensure dignified treatment. for all Palestinian prisoners. /message
