Trump: Talks with Iran are continuing “at a rapid pace”

Tuesday, June 2nd 2026

US President Donald Trump said on Monday that talks with Iran are continuing “at a fast pace”, reports Anadolu.

“Talks with the Islamic Republic of Iran are continuing at a fast pace”, Trump wrote on his Truth Social platform.

Earlier, the semi-official Iranian news agency Tasnim News Agency reported that Tehran has suspended communications with the US through intermediaries, in protest against Israeli attacks on Lebanon.

Tensions in the Middle East have escalated since the US and Israel launched attacks on Iran in February. Tehran retaliated with attacks on Israel and US allies in the Persian Gulf, as well as closing the Strait of Hormuz.

A ceasefire came into effect on April 8 brokered by Pakistan, but subsequent talks in Islamabad failed to produce a lasting agreement. However, efforts to reach a solution have continued since then.
