A serious incident took place in Shengjin, where five young people from Kosovo entered the sea to bathe, but were swept away by the waves created by strong winds.

As a result, two of them lost their lives, while the other three are in a serious condition.

In the official announcement, the police of Lezha wrote that thanks to the immediate reaction of the citizens with Jet Skis, in cooperation with the Police services, it was possible to extract from the sea, who were urgently transported to the Lezhë Regional Hospital for medical assistance.

Shëngjin, Lezhë/Preliminary information Around 4:30 p.m., the Police services received a notification that in the area of Rana e Hedhun, in Shëngjin, some citizens who had gone into the sea to bathe, as a result of the waves caused by the strong wind, were in difficulty and were in danger of drowning drowned.

Immediately after receiving the notification, the services of the Border Police, the services of the Local Directorate of the Lezhë Police, as well as those of the emergency, went to the given address.

Thanks to the immediate reaction of the citizens with Jet Skis, in cooperation with the police services, it was possible to pull 5 citizens from Kosovo out of the sea, who were urgently transported to the Lezhë Regional Hospital for receiving medical aid.

According to the preliminary information from the Lezhë Regional Hospital Emergency, 2 of the citizens have lost their lives, while the other 3 citizens are receiving medical assistance. The investigative group, under the direction of the Prosecutor’s Office, continues the actions to fully clarify the circumstances of the incident.
