During the months of May and June, a record number of entries and exits was recorded at the border points of the Kukës district with Kosovo, while thousands of citizens and drivers from Kosovo have chosen to travel to the Albanian coast, the Valbona National Park and other tourist destinations to spend the weekend and summer vacations.

According to the director of the Kukës Local Directorate for Border and Migration, Arben Alika, during the months of May and June, entry was processed and exit of over 2 million citizens, with a daily average of more than 42 thousand people.

The vast majority of them are citizens of Kosovo. In order to cope with the growing flow, the Border Police has increased the capacities at all the border crossing points of the district, increasing the number of counters and effectives in service. The main attention is focused on the Morinë Border Crossing Point, which handles the largest volume of movements between Kosovo and Albania

Only during the first four hours of this Saturday, through the Morinë Border Crossing Point, 12 thousand 431 citizens from Kosovo entered Albania, with 2 thousand 879 small vehicles and buses, once again confirming Morinë as the main gate of entry tourists from Kosovo.
