On July 2 and 3, 2026, members of the mission led by NATO, KFOR, the European Union Mission for the Rule of Law in Kosovo (EULEX), the Kosovo Police and the Emergency Management Agency (AME), will conduct a joint exercise at Camp Vrelo, called “Golden Saber 2026”.
The Kosovo Security Force will also participate in this exercise. (FSK), in accordance with its initial mandate for civil protection.
Golden Saber 2026 will involve the deployment of a large number of personnel, vehicles and equipment in and around the exercise area, as well as along the main communication routes in the vicinity.
The exercise will test crisis management skills and procedures in various complex security scenarios, including the safe handling and disposal of explosive devices and materials. dangerous.
“This joint exercise symbolizes our continuous and strong commitment to strengthen cooperation and coordination, for the benefit of all citizens in Kosovo”, emphasized the commander of KFOR, Major General Özkan Ulutaş.
KFOR says that it continues to implement its mandate, of the UN Security Council, contributing to ensuring a peaceful and safe environment for all people in Kosovo and freedom of movement, in at any time and impartially, in close cooperation with the Kosovo Police and EULEX, in their respective roles as security institutions.
