With nine votes for and one against, judge Kreshnik Kaçiu has been appointed president of the Administrative Court of Kosovo. The President of the Judicial Council of Kosovo, Rrustem Thaqi, has announced that 10 members of the Council participated in the vote, who cast valid votes. "10 members voted, all votes were valid. With 9 votes for and 1 against, Kreshnik Kaçiu was appointed president of the Administrative Court of Kosovo. His mandate is five years and will come into effect on September 10, 2026," he said. KJC Vice-Chair, Afërdita Bytyqi, has presented the process of selecting candidates for this position. According to her, the commission has developed the evaluation individually and, based on its results, Kreshnik Kaçiu received 74 points, while Liridona Ajeti Kajtazi received 64 points. "On June 24 2026, the commission interviewed the candidates for president Administrative Court in Pristina. During the interview, knowledge about administration, being creative at work, evaluation of concept documents, communication, specialized training and performance evaluation were evaluated. The commission developed the assessment individually, while the result was drawn in accordance with the regulation… As a result, judge Kreshnik Kaçiu has achieved 74 points, while judge Liridona Ajeti Kajtazi has reached 64 points, according to the commission's assessment," she said. Meanwhile, the other candidate for this position, Liridona Ajeti Kajtazi, had filed a complaint against the selection process. But the Kosovo Judicial Council, on August 27, reviewed it and decided to reject it as unfounded.
