Over 5,000 trucks and buses are checked, over 400 fines are issued

Kosovo Police has said that it has successfully concluded the week of operational activities within the European road police network, ROADPOL, focusing checks on means of transport of goods and passengers.

In the period from May 4 to 10, 2026, a traffic unit has increased its presence on all road axes of the country in order to increase safety and prevent accidents, reports Klankosova.tv.

According to the announcement, during this week a total of 834 vehicle control points were carried out, where 5,344 trucks and buses were stopped and checked.

“For the identified irregularities, 416 fines were imposed for various misdemeanors”, said the Police in the announcement.

“This operational plan had as a specific focus the strict control of the transport of goods and passengers, as a dangerous category of high in cases of road accidents”, announced the Police.
