The US Secretary of State, Marco Rubio, has announced that the US President, Donald Trump, will participate in the summit of NATO heads of state in Ankara in July, reports Anadolu.
Rubio said that the summit will be “the most important meeting” in the history of the alliance, because “there are some things that need to be clarified and fixed”.
“The US is still in the alliance of NATO and we will be there,” Rubio told the House Foreign Affairs Committee.
While Washington remains a member of NATO, he said the organization needs “significant changes” that will be discussed at the July 7 and 8 summit in the Turkish capital Ankara.
