Today marked the 27th anniversary of the Tusuz massacre, in which innocent civilians from Prizren were killed and massacred, including people with special needs.
During the campaign, 250 houses in this neighborhood, which was the supply base for the Kosovo Liberation Army, were burned and destroyed.
On the anniversary, tributes were paid in the cemetery of neighborhood martyrs, where the 28 innocent civilians who were barbarically killed by the Serbian forces on May 26, 1999 were commemorated.
The ceremony was attended by family members of the martyrs and martyrs, institutional representatives, war veterans of the Kosovo Liberation Army as well as many citizens.
The son of the martyr Sani Bajrami, who bears the name of his father, said that the pride for the sacrifice of of the fallen remains permanent and that the new generations must learn the truth of the liberation war.
The Vice President of Prizren, Kujtim Gashi, said that the sacrifice of the nation’s martyrs and martyrs remains the foundation of Kosovo’s freedom, calling for their memory to be preserved between generations.
Serbian forces, unable to find and identify the soldiers of the Kosovo Liberation Army, took revenge on the civilian population on the morning of May 26, 1999, committing one of the most serious massacres in Prizren.
The head of the OVL branch of the KLA, Isa Berisha said that the blood of the martyrs will never be forgotten and that their legacy remains the protection of the country’s freedom and dignity.
