An old myth continues to mislead consumers, especially during the hot summer months when the desire for cool drinks is at its peak.
For a long time, it has been believed that the main enemy in soft drinks is gas, causing many people to switch from sugary sodas to sugary stills, with the mistaken idea that they are making a healthier choice.
However, according to nutritionist Pavli Brozit, this is a completely incorrect equation. Invited to the “Ora Neës” news studio, Brozi said that the essential problem does not lie in carbonation, but in the high amount of sugar.
For all those who find it difficult to give up the feeling of gas, the ideal solution is sparkling water. The latter is not only a safe alternative, but also offers digestive benefits, as the bubbles help move food through the stomach. To give it more flavor, you can easily add natural ingredients such as lemon, mint or cucumber.
Brozi’s advice for the holiday season is clear: the focus should be on avoiding sugar, not gas. Even in the case of carbonated alcoholic beverages such as beer, the damage to the body does not come from the gas, but from other elements such as yeast and the alcohol itself.
It is time to turn the attention to the real harmful ingredients, avoiding the hidden sugar that is massively consumed every day.
