Von der Leyen’s message for taking over the leadership of the EU from Nicosia

“Welcome, Presidency of Cyprus”. With this message in Greek, the President of the Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, congratulated on the first day of the six-month period during which Cyprus takes the presidency of the Council of the European Union.

She emphasized that Cyprus is taking responsibility at a decisive moment for the Union and therefore “the focus on strengthening the autonomy of Europe could not be more important”.
