Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has confirmed a three-day ceasefire as well as a prisoner exchange with Russia, which US President Donald Trump described as a possible step towards ending the war that has been going on for more than four years, reports Anadolu.

Zelenskyy on the American social network X said that the Ukrainian side accepted “Russia’s agreement to conduct a prisoner exchange in the format 1,000 to 1,000” in the framework of the US-mediated peace negotiations.

Just minutes earlier, Trump in a statement on Truth Social said that Russia and Ukraine have agreed to a ceasefire and prisoner exchange, expressing his appreciation for the agreement’s acceptance by Russian President Vladimir Putin and President Zelenskyy.
