NASA releases new images that shed light on geological evolution
Two remarkable 360-degree panoramic views of the planet Mars shed light on its history.
The images were taken by NASA’s Perseverance and Curiosity rover, where the images taken by the rover show some of the oldest geological structures that match the earliest time of the creation of the solar system, while Curiosity managed to capture images of terrains that were created relatively much later in time, that is, younger, near Mount Sharp.
Two time trips on the same planet, where two different eras of creation help create the complete geological evolution of Mars, but also eventually the life that once existed.
The Curiosity rover is located on the surface of the red planet about 3775 km from Perseverance, and in 1031 images of The photo taken by him in November-December 2025 shows structures created as a result of underground water that once flowed through large rock fractures, depositing minerals that have resisted erosion and created the current landscape.
