The Balkan Peace Platform, established under the leadership of Turkey, held its first meeting on July 26, 2025 and the second on January 23 in Istanbul.

– Turkey’s multilateral cooperation in the Balkans
Turkey actively contributes to the Southeast European Cooperation Process, the only platform uniting 13 Balkan countries.
Turkey–Bosnia and Herzegovina–Croatia and Turkey–Bosnia and Herzegovina–Serbia tripartite consultation mechanisms established under Turkish leadership reflect Ankara’s emphasis on dialogue, reconciliation and confidence building in the Balkans.
Turkey also continues to contribute to security and regional stability through participation in military missions such as KFOR in Kosovo and EUFOR Althea in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Turkey last October took command of KFOR from Italy for a one-year term.
