A new round of nuclear talks between the US and Iran is expected to take place in the Pakistani capital on Monday, according to a report published Friday by CNN, Anadolu reports.

Iranian sources familiar with the negotiations said negotiators from both sides are expected to arrive in Islamabad on Sunday, the media said.

Neither the US nor Iranian governments have issued a statement confirming the news, but President Donald Trump has previously said negotiations could take place over the weekend.

An earlier round of talks held last weekend ended without an agreement, despite hours of negotiations. A two-week ceasefire brokered by Pakistan is expected to expire early next week.
