Iran’s president tells Trump: ‘Who are you to deny rights to anyone?’

US President Trump has no justification for stripping Iran of its nuclear rights, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said.

His comments to Iran’s news agency come at a time when Washington and Tehran continue to disagree on nuclear issues.

“Trump says that Iran can’t use its nuclear rights, but it doesn’t say for what reasons or what we did wrong. Who is he to take away a nation’s rights?” Pezeshkian said. Pezeshkian said Iran is not seeking war and is only acting in self-defense against attacks by the US and Israel, emphasizing his country’s commitment to regional peace and stability. He accused the US and Israel of targeting civilian infrastructure, calling such actions a violation of international law and proof of double standards on human rights.

“We have not attacked any country and in the current situation we do not intend to attack any side, we are simply defending ourselves legitimately,” Pezeshkian was quoted as saying by the ISNA news agency.

“We should not it is suggested that Iran seeks war. Rather, we are peaceful and what we are doing is legitimate self-defense. Just as any human being reacts to aggression, so a nation defends itself.” /tesheshi
