He didn’t score a goal on Tuesday, but Vedat Muriqi continues to be talked about a lot in Spain.
After being linked with a possible move to Barcelona, Muriqi became a topic in Turkey on Tuesday. The Turkish giant, Fenerbahçe, has expressed interest in securing the services of the Kosovar striker. In fact, various Turkish media have reported that Fenerbahçe has already reached an agreement in principle with Muriq, while for his return to the club from Istanbul, only the agreement with Mallorca remains.
The agreement, however, is not expected to be easy.
The media “Ultima Hora”, close to Mallorca, has written that for Muriq, the minimum price is 30 million euros.
Muriqi’s agent, Utku Cenikli was present at the “Son Moix” stadium for the match between Mallorca and Valencia. He does not usually attend matches at the stadium, but appeared at a time when rumors are growing about the “Pirate” leaving the island.
“His visit to Spain does not seem to be a coincidence as it comes at a time when his client is being linked with big clubs, with Barcelona being one of the teams that has expressed interest in the player’s contract and a possible transfer fee”, wrote Ultima Hora.
Muriqi has scored 21 goals. this edition in La Liga and is breaking Mallorca’s records.
“However, a possible departure will not be easy – the minimum price has been set at 30 million euros”, wrote the Spanish medium.
Mallorca currently wants to keep the striker. Transferring Muric would be complicated, as Lazio keep a significant percentage of the net profit from any future sale. According to “Ultima Hora”, this figure is 45 percent.
“In other words, if Mallorca sells Muric for 30 million euros, it would cover the investment of 7.5 million euros and the additions exceeding 1 million euros. And the remaining profit would be divided between Mallorca with 55 percent and Lazio with 45 percent.”
Lazio is Muric’s former club, from which he transferred to Mallorca.
Fenerbahçe has been looking for Muriq even in the winter, while the attacker had left this issue in the hands of the Spanish club’s leaders. Mallorca at that time had refused to give him up.
While interest in Muriq is growing, his departure from Mallorca can only be realized for a compensation of at least 30 million euros. He has a contract for another three years.
In the 1:1 draw with Valencia, on Tuesday, Muriqi was active but did not score a goal. Valencia was very focused on stopping him.
“They have started to take notes on him as he is one of the best scorers in the league. They are analyzing his every move. We have to take advantage of this. They dealt a lot with Muriq and we came out with other weapons. We scored another goal from stoppages”, said the coach of Mallorca, Martin Demichelis.
