In case of smuggling of goods in the border area between the Republic of Kosovo and North Macedonia, it was prevented this Thursday by the Kosovo Police, as part of the “Iron Shield” plan.

The case occurred in the mountainous area between the village of Radush and the road that connects the village of Goranc with Hani e Elezit, reports Klankosova.tv.

According to the official announcement, police units have identified a vehicle, the driver of which tried to leave the police unit together with a passenger.

“Well, the vehicle was stopped by the police officers, in which case one of the suspects, a citizen of North Macedonia, was arrested”, says the announcement.

During the control of the vehicle, various goods were found and seized, the value of which according to initial estimates exceeds tens of thousands of euros, for which the suspect did not possess relevant documentation on background.

After consultation with the competent prosecutor, the suspect was detained for 48 hours, while the goods and the vehicle were confiscated as material evidence in criminal proceedings.
