Drones used by the Hezbollah group are limiting nearly 80 percent of Israeli military operations in southern Lebanon, Israel’s public broadcaster KAN reported Monday, noting that the military is also facing shortages of equipment needed to deal with the growing threat, Anadolu reports.

KAN said the Israeli military has assessed that drones laden with explosives have significantly reduced the army’s operational freedom in southern Lebanon, along with casualties among troops.

According to the report, many military operations are no longer conducted during daylight hours due to concerns about drone attacks.

To counter the growing threat, anti-drone equipment is being distributed only to a limited number of soldiers in each company due to shortages, KAN said.

The broadcaster also cited sources in Israeli military intelligence as saying that Hezbollah has gone from an organized structure in recent days. command in a guerrilla-style approach.

The sources said the group has increasingly relied on smaller cells that carry out quick attacks as they move between villages in southern Lebanon.

Hezbollah members are operating with greater independence, in part because of the killing of top commanders by the Radwan Force.

Earlier on Monday, Hezbollah said it carried out 11 drone and rocket attacks. that targeted Israeli troops and military vehicles in southern Lebanon and northern Israel, adding that the strikes came in response to Israel’s continued ceasefire violations.

Hezbollah drones have recently become a source of growing concern for Israel, with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu describing them as a “major threat” and calling on the military to find a solution.
