Honey is one of the most widely used natural products both in food and in folk medicine.
According to nutritionists, its consumption in moderate amounts can bring benefits for energy, digestion and general well-being, especially when used instead of white sugar.
A teaspoon of honey in the morning provides the body with natural sugars that are absorbed more slowly, helping to maintain energy during the day and avoid its immediate declines. Also, honey contains substances that help intestinal flora and digestion.
Using honey before bed is often used to soothe the throat and relieve mild coughs, while it is not recommended for children under one year old for health reasons.
Experts advise not to mix honey with very hot drinks, as the high temperature can reduce its nutritional value. Likewise, consumption should be limited, usually 1 to 2 teaspoons a day.
According to specialists, honey can help with energy, immunity and digestion, but the effects depend on the way of eating and the health status of each person.
