Monster Itamar Ben-Gvir, with horrific behavior towards Sumud Flotilla detainees
A video where Gaza flotilla activists who were arrested at sea and taken to the port of Ashdod are attempted to be humiliated, physically and verbally, was released by Israel’s Minister of National Security, Itamar Ben-Gvir.
Dozens of international activists are seen kneeling on the ground, with hands tied. The video begins with one of the activists shouting “Freedom for Palestine” before police officers drag them to the ground to remove them from the minister during his visit to the facility.
With dozens of activists tied up and kneeling, Ben-Gvir is seen raising a large Israeli flag and shouting in Hebrew: “Welcome to Israel, we are the owners here.” The minister also addressed Benjamin Netanyahu, saying: “I say to the Prime Minister – give them to us for a long time, let’s put them in terrorist prisons.”
In another image, activists are seen on the deck of a ship while the Israeli national anthem is played.
Activists are being held in the port of Ashdod, after the Foreign Ministry announced that the mission of the latest flotilla aimed at breaking the naval blockade of Gaza “has ended”, with the participants being transferred to Israel.
Among the more than 400 activists from 45 countries on the ship was the sister of the Irish president, Catherine Connolly.
Vlonjat activist Baki Goxhaj is also there.
Israel called the flotilla’s mission a “propaganda act for Hamas”.
But not everyone in the Israeli government has agreed with these footage.
Foreign Minister Gideon Saar attacked Ben-Gvir for the images he broadcast: “You knowingly caused harm to the country with this shameful behavior, and not for the first time – you are not the face of Israel.” Saar also referred to the international implications of the publication: “You have destroyed the great, professional and successful efforts of so many people – from IDF soldiers to Foreign Ministry employees and many others.
Italian government summons Israeli ambassador for explanations
The Italian government calls the treatment of Gaza flotilla activists unacceptable, adding that it will summon the Israeli ambassador for explanations.
In a statement in strong words, Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni and Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani said that Italy “demands an apology for the treatment” of the activists and the “absolute lack of respect” for the requests of the Italian government.
“The images of Israeli minister Ben Gvir are unacceptable. It is unacceptable that these protesters, including many Italian citizens, are subjected to this treatment that violates their human dignity”, the statement says.
On the other hand, there is no reaction from official Tirana for its citizen who has been under the hands of the Israelis.
Even though the Albanian government beats its chest for friendship with this bloodthirsty state, when it comes to intervening for the activist Goxhaj, it appears pay. /tesheshi
