This season’s edition of the Champions League, the most important competition for clubs in European football, ended last night with the triumph of Paris Saint-Germain in the grand final against Arsenal.
After a match fought until the end, the winner was decided only after the execution of penalties. The French team proved to be more accurate from the penalty spot, winning with a score of 4-3 and lifting the long-awaited trophy.
Besides the sporting success, the Champions League continues to remain an important source of income for the participating clubs. As expected, the teams that reached the farthest in the competition also benefited from the largest financial sums.
PSG leads the list with 145.9 million euros collected, while Arsenal, as a finalist, secured 143.2 million euros. These revenues are related to result bonuses, qualifications in the tournament stages and participation in the competition.
Bayern Munich ranks third with 127.3 million euros, followed by Liverpool with 109.5 million euros. Atletico Madrid benefited 104.2 million euros, while Real Madrid 102.6 million euros. Among the clubs with the highest profits from this edition is Barcelona, which collected 100.3 million euros.
The figures once again show the economic weight of the Champions League, as each stage passed in the competition brings additional income and significantly increases the benefits of the clubs during the season.
