US President Donald Trump said on Sunday that a proposed deal with Iran clearly prevents Tehran from acquiring a nuclear weapon, rejecting claims that the framework does not adequately address issues over the nuclear program, Anadolu reports.

In a post on his Truth Social platform, Trump said the proposed deal “states, very clearly, that Iran will not have a nuclear weapon” and argued that the deal contains broad provisions related to Iran’s nuclear program.

His remarks appeared to be directed at a CNN report suggesting that the proposed framework does not adequately address issues over the nuclear program, a characterization he strongly rejected.

“Then, in very strong and lengthy detail, various other aspects of Nuclear Weapons are discussed. In fact, that is what it is all about.” in most of the deal,” he wrote.

He also criticized some media outlets, accusing them of misrepresenting the content of the proposed deal.

Trump has repeatedly said that any future understanding with Tehran must include guarantees that prevent Iran from developing or possessing a nuclear weapon.
