Kosovo police have arrested three suspects and confiscated over 25 kilograms of narcotic substances suspected to be marijuana, in an action developed in the north of the country.
According to the announcement, the Directorate for the Investigation of Narcotics Trafficking has carried out a tactical plan coded “CONTROL”, following operational information about two vehicles suspected of transporting narcotics.
Two vehicles with Serbian license plates have been identified in the Point Border at PKK Vërmicë, where one was then stopped in Zveçan and the other in Jarinjë.
During the detailed control of the vehicle stopped in Zveçan, the police discovered modified spaces inside the car, where about 25,984 kg of marijuana were found. While the other vehicle is suspected to have served as an escort for road safety.
In connection with the case, three people have been arrested – a citizen of Serbia and two citizens of Montenegro. The forensics unit has also arrived at the scene, while the investigations are continuing in cooperation with the justice bodies.
