US President Donald Trump has stated that he sees a possible opportunity for progress in efforts to end the war in Ukraine, after separate talks with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Russian President Vladimir Putin, reports Anadolu.
“We had a very good conversation yesterday with President Zelenskyy and President Putin, and I think we can do something there. I really think so. I believe they are both open to it,” he said. Trump during a meeting with his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron, on the sidelines of the G7 summit in Evian, France.
Trump said the war in Iran is “over”.
“Now that this (the war in Iran) is over, we’re going to focus on this (the end of the war in Ukraine)… see if we can resolve that too,” he told reporters.
The American president added that he had developed “two very good talks” on Sunday.
