US President Donald Trump has announced that ships carrying oil have begun to leave the Strait of Hormuz, after the US and Iran announced that they have reached an agreement to end the war, reports Anadolu.

“Vessels are starting to move, many of them loaded with oil, leaving the Strait of Hormuz. They are using the southern ‘highway,’ which is completely safe and intact,” Trump wrote on his Truth Social platform.

“There are other avenues of navigation,” he added.

Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, whose country led mediation between Washington and Tehran, announced earlier today that the US and Iran had reached an agreement after intense negotiations, with both sides announcing an immediate and permanent cessation of military operations on all fronts. including Lebanon.

The agreement is expected to be signed on Friday in Switzerland.
