The President of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, has stated that the agreement between the US and Iran constitutes a “very important step” towards the end of the war that, according to him, started with provocations by Israel on February 28, adding that it has given the region “a breath of relief”, reports Anadolu.

He emphasized that Turkey is satisfied “on behalf of the region and all humanity” with the agreement reached with Ankara’s contribution.
“We hope that the agreement will fully pave the way to establishing lasting peace and stability in our region,” he said.
The Turkish president said that no Turkish citizen was harmed during crisis.
“Plans to pit brothers against each other did not achieve their goal,” he said.
Speaking of NATO, Erdogan emphasized that Turkey is among the main countries that support the alliance’s peace mission.
“As we develop our defense capabilities, we contribute to the alliance’s deterrence capability,” he said.
He added that Turkey will continue to play a leading role. in NATO, emphasizing the country’s military capabilities, strategic geography and historical heritage.
Erdogan also said that Turkey’s position in the alliance and developments in the region have increased interest and expectations for the NATO Summit in Ankara.
