“On May 5, 2026, the Trial Panel decided to extend the deadline for the pronouncement of the judgment until July 20, 2026. In that order, the Trial Panel also noted that, if a further extension were absolutely necessary, an order to that effect would be issued in due course. Pursuant to Rule 159(1) According to the rules, if the circumstances of the case require additional time beyond the initial 90 days, this should not exceed 60 days, unless it is absolutely necessary,” stated Angela Griep, the spokesperson of the KSC.
From this court, they added that July 20 may not be the final day either.
“It is at the discretion of the Trial Panel to decide whether it is really necessary to have additional time. If the Trial Panel in this case e deems necessary, such a decision will be notified to the parties and will be made public, she clarified.
And these answers of the Special, according to the lawyer, Ardian Bajraktari, leave room for a new postponement of the announcement of the judgment.
“However, the fact that this court has not shown much care for the rules, norms and standards, does not exclude the possibility of another postponement. Also, it is worth noting that the fact that the four of the KLA continue to be kept in detention, as the strictest measure to ensure the presence of the defendants in the procedure, is still worrying, in violation of all legal parameters, even with the practice of the European Court for Human Rights”, declared Ardian Bajraktari.
