Police, KSF, KFOR and EULEX join in the “Golden Sword” exercise

The Kosovo Police has announced that on July 2 and 3, at the Special Units Camp in Vrelle, the joint operational exercise “Golden Sword 2026-1” was carried out, in cooperation with the Kosovo Security Force (FSK), KFOR, EULEX and AME.

According to a Police communique, the purpose of the exercise was to strengthen inter-institutional cooperation and increase readiness for a coordinated response. in the management of critical incidents and high-risk situations, through joint operational procedures and the interaction of security structures.

Within the exercise scenario, the response to security threats, the identification and management of explosive devices, the management of violent protests, the use of specialized tools, the evacuation of people and full inter-institutional coordination on the ground were simulated.

In the exercise, operative and support units of Kosovo Police, including the Directorate of Special Operative Units (DNJSO), the Rapid Response Unit (NJRSH), the Unit for the Handling of Explosive Devices (NJTME), the Demolition and Disposal Unit (NJDA), the Directorate for Safety and Health at Work (DSHSH), as well as the Public Order units.

The police announced that the exercise was attended by senior leaders of the participating institutions and partners internationals, who assessed the level of professionalism, operational discipline and inter-institutional coordination during the realization of the scenario.

The Kosovo Police emphasized that it remains committed to the continuous increase of operational capacities, strengthening cooperation with local and international partners, as well as guaranteeing security and public order in the Republic of Kosovo.
