The head of the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK), Bedri Hamza, has stated that the party he leads will remain in the opposition during this term, after the meeting he held with the head of the Vetëvendosje Movement (LVV), Albin Kurti.
Speaking to the media, Hamza said that the meeting took place in a correct atmosphere, while he reiterated that the PDK during the election campaign competed with a program focused on economic development, well-being social, energy and infrastructure.
“After we finished the meeting with Kurt. PDK in these elections has competed with a program and priorities related to the field of economy, social welfare, as well as projects in energy and infrastructure. In order to implement these priorities, PDK has no red lines and is open to talk about a comprehensive political agreement”, said Hamza.
However, he announced that, based on discussions held, PDK’s position remains unchanged.
“Based on the conversations we have had, which are normally correct, our position is that PDK is ready to be in the opposition in this term and we wish success to Kurt”, he said.
Hamza also emphasized that the process of constitution of institutions requires cooperation between political subjects, also mentioning the issue of electing the president.
“All other parties cannot elect the president without the LVV. The LVV must find partners according to their needs and criteria to give the country institutions”, he declared.
In the end, the head of the PDK said that, regardless of the position in the opposition, his party will support any initiative that is in the interest of the citizens.
“We will cooperate with all political forces in the Parliament, in the interest of the citizens of Kosovo”, Hamza concluded.
