LVV remains open to agreements with the parties, after the suspension of talks by the LDK

After the decision of the Democratic League of Kosovo to suspend the talks on the formation of new institutions, the Vetëvendosje Movement have stated that they remain committed to dialogue and reaching a political agreement.

The spokesperson of the LVV, Arlind Manjhuka, in an answer to Tëvë1, said that the party is continuing its efforts to find a solution through meetings and cooperation with other parties.

“We are trying our best. We are active. and constructive for meetings and discussions, open and honest for agreement”, declared Manjuka.

He expressed the hope that the opposition does not interrupt the process of political dialogue and that the country does not go towards new elections.

“We hope that the opposition will not barricade itself against us and lead us to elections again”, said the spokesperson of the LVV.

Meanwhile, the LDK announced that recent developments have affected the political climate and the process of discussions between the parties.

The chairman of the LDK, Lumir Abdixhiku, has declared on Wednesday that he will stop all commitments for the formation of the institutions of Kosovo, after the initiative to dismiss him from the post of the party chairman.

In a message addressed to the membership, voters and citizens of Kosovo, Abdixhiku has said that the recent developments have is temporarily withdrawn from the process of political negotiations.

We recall that on July 10, acting Prime Minister Albin Kurti and the chairman of the LDK, Lumir Abdixhiku, held a meeting in an attempt to reach an agreement on the formation of new institutions after the June elections.

The meeting did not bring concrete progress, but both leaders declared that they intend to end the institutional and political crisis that has affected the country for a long period, avoiding the possibility of new parliamentary elections.

They promised that they would continue the talks in the following days.

According to the Constitution of Kosovo, after the certification of the election results by the Central Election Commission (CEC), the constitutive session of the Assembly must be held within 30 days.

Due to these constitutional deadlines, the constitutive session of the Assembly can be called until August 7.

this session the constitution of the Assembly takes place, the president and vice-presidents are elected, while the procedures for the formation of the new Government continue.
