On Sunday at midnight, the period for the registration of voters outside Kosovo to vote in the early elections for the Assembly of Kosovo that will be held on June 7 was completed.
The Central Election Commission has received 142,803 applications.
CEC spokesperson, Valmir Elezi, has indicated the completion of the registration of voters outside Kosovo and the preliminary data from this process.
“Based on preliminary data, from the start of this process on May 6 and until its end on May 17, 2026, 142,803 requests for registration have been received through the electronic platform, of which 109,696 have been approved so far, while another 7,325 have been rejected and 25,702 are awaiting review,” he said. Elezi.
According to Elezi, the most preferred way to vote is voting by mail.
“Out of 109,696 approved applications, 81,901 citizens have registered to send a ballot package to a mailbox outside Kosovo, another 2,855 to send a ballot package to the CEC mailbox in Kosovo and 24,940 have registered to vote physically in any of the diplomatic missions”, he said.
He added that for postal voting, mailboxes have been functionalized in 23 countries of the world, including Kosovo, while their addresses will be published during the week.
According to him, the CEC will review the list of diplomatic missions where physical voting will be organized, as some of them have less than 50 registered voters.
