Even as the Muslim world seeks an atmosphere of peace, Israel continues its “occupation, destruction, massacres and illegal settlement-building activities” from Gaza to the West Bank, East Quds and Lebanon, violating the cease-fires that are in force, Turkey’s President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said today, Anadolu reports.
In a message on the occasion of the Muslim holiday of Eid al-Adha, Erdogan thanked God for allowing Turkey to reach another holiday. with good health and peace of mind, but also lamented how the negative effects of Iran’s war “caused by Israel’s provocations” are being felt in many international sectors, including energy, agriculture, trade, transport, economy and security.
“During a period when our region is facing crises, Turkey stands out as an island of stability with its economy, skilled personnel and strengthened domestic front,” Erdogan said in the message. posted on the presidency’s website as well as in video form on the American social media company X.
He said that Turkey is now reaping the fruits of the policies pursued over the past 23 years, under the Justice and Development Party (AK) and particularly emphasized the impressive progress in the defense industry, “despite criticism and obstacles”.
“With defense and aerospace exports increasing from 248 million dollars to more than $10 billion, Turkey is writing a rare success story in the world,” he added.
Erdogan said Turkey would emerge as “one of the bright stars of the new era” once instability in the region subsides.
“We are doing everything necessary for that,” he said, referring to Turkey’s steadfast efforts, including mediation offers, to promote peace in region.
