The Acting President of Kosovo, Albulena Haxhiu, has announced that on Friday she will set the date of the constitutive meeting of the Assembly of the Republic.

And this date, according to her, will be in the first week of August.

“It will take place in the first week of August, and on Friday, I believe, I will make an announcement when exactly this session will be held”, she said. Haxhiu, in the late hours of Tuesday in Prizren.

She made it known that she was not in a hurry to set the session on the grounds that the parties have enough time to negotiate about the election of the president.

“I have supported and welcomed the meetings that took place between the prime minister and the current chairman of Vetëvendosjest Albin Kurti. As you know, he has two meetings, one with the PDK, the other with LDK. The LDK has suspended the meetings due to internal developments. Of course, I do not comment on the internal issues of the political parties, but it is very important that, as soon as possible, these meetings continue in order to reach an agreement on the issue of the president. If there was an agreement, we would make it public. The Prime Minister, Mr. Murati, and Mrs. Osmani Sadriu, were in the meeting, but there was no agreement.
