Iran’s national team applies in Ankara for US visas for the 2026 World Cup

Iran’s national football team has submitted visa applications to the US embassy in Ankara ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, reports Anadolu.

The international football tournament will be jointly organized by the US, Canada and Mexico from June 11 to July 19.

Members of the Iranian team arrived at the embassy in the Turkish capital to complete the procedures. visas.

As they left the building, the players smiled when reporters asked if their applications had been approved.

The team has been holding a training camp in the Turkish resort city of Antalya since May 19.

Mehdi Mohammad Nabi, first vice president of the Iran Football Federation, previously said the team will travel to Ankara to complete US and Canadian visa procedures for all members of the team.

He added that some foreign-based players are also expected to join the delegation for the process and other formalities.
