Two Palestinians have been wounded by Israeli gunfire west of Khan Younis in the southern Gaza Strip, medical sources told Anadolu, amid ongoing violations of the ceasefire that has been in effect since October 10.

According to the sources, they were shot by the Israeli army in the al-Mawasi area.

Meanwhile, eyewitnesses said Israeli army artillery shelled areas in the east. of Gaza City and the town of Jabalia in the north of the Palestinian enclave.

Israeli forces also opened fire northeast of Al-Bureij camp in the central part of the Gaza Strip.

Israel has continued to commit daily violations of the October 10 ceasefire agreement, killing 713 Palestinians and wounding 1,943 others since then.

The ceasefire aimed to end a two-year Israeli offensive in Gaza, which left more than 72,000 dead and 172,000 injured, causing the massive destruction of 90 percent of civilian infrastructure.

The UN estimates that the costs of reconstruction reach about 70 billion dollars.
