Authority over the mosque rests with the Islamic administration, the council added, describing the measures as “null and void”, saying they enforced “by military power”, which has turned the city into a “military barracks”.

He also said that the police are restricting worshipers’ access to the mosque and restricting the work of the Islamic Waqf administration.
