The meeting between the Prime Minister in office, Albin Kurti and the chairman of the LDK, Lumir Abdixhiku, who was accompanied by the former president Vjosa Osmani, has ended.

Kurti said that the meeting went in a constructive manner.

“The meeting went in a constructive atmosphere. We discussed issues of political developments and the schedule for the formation of institutions for the 11th legislature. We have time for the formation of institutions for a few more weeks. There is no subject that we did not discuss, we still do not have anyone who can share it with you here”, Kurti said after the meeting at a media conference.

He expressed optimism in reaching an agreement.

“I am optimistic about the way forward, I am hopeful that the prevailing rationality will continue to exist in these meetings, that is why I am emphasizing that it is the first meeting, as there will be other meetings”, he said Kurti.

“We are interested in an agreement and not have elections. Our common goal is to avoid new elections. There is a readiness, interest and will for this, but of course this is a necessary condition, but not sufficient to say that we have crowned with success. The agreement we aim for is, of course, political because we are political subjects and we see the political agreement as a functional supplement of the will of the people, respectively the result”, he emphasized. Kurti.

The Acting Prime Minister, Albin Kurti, was asked if they will give the position of President to the LDK presidential candidate, Vjosa Osmani.

“We believe that the letter and spirit of the Constitution is for a President who is an expression of the unity of the people and that in this sense it should be consensual. We are interested in having the maximum possible number of deputies standing in the hall. Because you have it in mind, we we can choose any proper name, we recently had Glauk Konjufca, then also Dr. Feride Rushiti, but the number 80, which is the minimum, is difficult to reach, therefore our focus has not been on proper names for the President, but on the concept and principles and the vision forward on one side and on the other side, what should we do strategically to maximize the number of deputies who must pass or at least to be 2/3 when the day of the President’s election comes,” he asserted. While Kurti was accompanied to the meeting by Hekuran Murati, Abdixhiku went to the meeting in the company of the former president, Vjosa Osmani. Kurti was accompanied to the meeting by the acting Minister of Finance, Hekuran Murati, while Abdixhiku was accompanied by the former president Vjosa Osmani. Yesterday, Kurti through a public invitation requested to meet with the chairmen of the former opposition parties to discuss actions regarding the formation of new institutions. During the day, Kurti also met with the chairman of the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK), Bedri Hamza. Hamza has declared that the PDK will continue to remain in the opposition, stressing that the responsibility for the creation of institutions belongs to the Vetëvendosje Movement, as the winning subject of the elections.

On the other hand, the Alliance led by Ardian Gjini has refused to meet with the Prime Minister in office
