The Prime Minister, Albin Kurti, together with his mother Ferdonija from Gjakova, a colleague from the Government and Assembly of Kosovo, paid tributes near the monument, on the Day of the Missing.
Kurti said that “Kosovo is still looking for 1565 people who appear as missing, while he called on the international factor to increase the pressure on Serbia, to tell the truth the disappeared.
“We call on the international factor to put pressure on the official Belgrade and reveal the truth about our disappeared, since they bear the responsibility and they know the truth. There are also 11 mass cemeteries, in addition to those five, which have already been discovered and for which Serbia does not provide information, because it has been communicated by them publicly that there are 16 mass cemeteries in total. And only in one of them that has been discovered, in Batajnica, we have 744 missing persons exhumed from there, while in total so far there are about 1 thousand Albanians who have been discovered in the mass cemeteries in Serbia,” said Kurti.
The head of government declared that the international, European and American factors should put more pressure on Belgrade so that the truth of those responsible is brought to light. Meanwhile, he said that although work is being done in their trial, more should be done, because the witnesses, he said, are getting old, which according to Kurt makes it difficult to pursue and bring Serbian criminals to justice.
The head of the executive said that the Governmental Commission for Missing Persons, the Institute of Forensic Medicine, the Kosovo Police and all the country’s institutions are making maximum efforts to clarify the fate of the disappeared.
He said that there are also 11 cemeteries. mass cemeteries in addition to the five that have already been discovered and for which Serbia does not provide information, because it has been communicated by them publicly that there are 16 mass cemeteries in total.
