The Kosovo Police has arrested a person during an operation carried out in five locations in Prizren, against several persons suspected of usury.
The operation was carried out after intensive investigative actions in cooperation with the Basic Prosecutor’s Office in Prizren
The operation was carried out within the framework of investigations against five suspects with the initials: B.K., GJ.K., E.K., E.K. and E.R., who are suspected of committing the criminal offenses “Extortion” from Article 331, “Unlawful Deprivation of Liberty” from Article 193 and “Coercion” from Article 328 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kosovo.
“According to the suspicions so far, the suspects have continuously forced the victim to pay various amounts of money as interest for usury, using different forms of pressure and violence. It is also suspected that in certain cases they have deprived the victim of his freedom, in order to force him to pay high interest rates. The damage caused to the victim, according to initial estimates, amounts to around 700,000 (seven hundred thousand) euros, while the suspects are suspected of asking for around 450,000 euros in interest. usury”.
Four other people are wanted by the police.
By the decision of the state prosecutor from the Basic Prosecutor’s Office in Prizren, a 48-hour arrest warrant has been issued to the arrested person, while investigations related to the case are ongoing.
