Members of the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries and its allies (OPEC+) decided to raise oil production quotas, as the war in the Middle East continues to cause turmoil in international energy markets.
OPEC+, which includes Saudi Arabia, Russia and many Gulf countries under attack from Iran, decided to “adjust its production by 206,000 barrels per day”, according to statement.
At the same time, OPEC+ warned that restoring the energy infrastructure damaged by the recent attacks is costly and “will take time”, which could affect global supplies.
In a statement issued by its members who met today, they noted that it is essential to protect maritime corridors to ensure uninterrupted transportation of hydrocarbons. /tesheshi.com/
