Three members of the Municipal Assembly of Prizren from the Vetëvendosje Movement have today submitted a report to the Basic Prosecutor’s Office, requesting an investigation regarding the process of allocation of subsidies by the Directorate for Culture, Youth and Sports (DKRS).

Assemblywoman Dafina Alishani stated that there are serious suspicions of irregularities during the allocation of subsidies, since the beneficiaries were also non-governmental organizations, for which, according to her, it should be emphasized the method of selection and the fulfillment of the criteria are verified.

This action comes after the same concerns were raised in the last session of the Municipal Assembly, where the opposition demanded investigations into the way of allocation of subsidies in the field of culture, youth and sports. In that session, Alishani had stated that a member of the commission for the evaluation of applications had also benefited from a subsidy in the amount of 28 thousand euros, describing this as a possible conflict of interest.

VV deputies have asked the justice bodies to investigate all the circumstances of this process and clarify whether there was a legal violation during the distribution of public funds. / Gazeta e Prizren
