“The American Chamber of Commerce in Kosovo strongly believes that measures that focus mainly on the stimulation of short-term consumption risk producing limited long-term economic impact, especially in an economy like Kosovo’s, where a significant part of the increase in consumption is translated into increased imports, not increased local production and investments. Such measures also limit the availability of public funds for initiatives and investments with impact greater economic and with broader and longer-term benefits”.
“Instead of temporary and one-off payments, the focus should shift towards investments in infrastructure and policies that strengthen the private sector ecosystem. Strategic investments in transport and energy infrastructure, digital infrastructure, education and workforce development create conditions that enable businesses to expand their activities and increase productivity”.
