The campaign for the collection of bulky waste in the capital has started. The Director of Public Services in the Municipality of Prishtina in a press conference said that this is happening after a long period of interruption due to the procedures related to the central landfill.

Retkoceri said that the legal procedures for obtaining the municipal environmental permit for the placement of the bulky waste transit center have already been completed. that have bulky waste, and now we are developing this action with companies in broad cooperation with public companies in the municipality of Pristina, also with operators who are serving for the collection of household waste. And in the next phase, we ask you to support us as much as possible to ensure an environment where there will be no more bulky waste,” Retkoceri said.

He announced that five emergency teams have been engaged in parallel in different neighborhoods of the city for the removal of waste.

“In a very quick time I hope that we will finish the collection of bulky waste. So from here we will continue to, in front of the “Gjergj Fishta” school, to the Tokbashqe park to remove the first landfill, which has been created on an extremely large scale. But with the cooperation and great will of this team, we will manage to finish most of the points today and in the coming days,” he said.

Regarding how citizens will be able to send bulky waste, he said that after the finalization of the environmental permit, the municipality will issue an official notice for the dedicated collection point.

“After finalizing the procedure for the environmental permit, we will first remove it with public companies and then during the following week we will issue an official notice that the citizens will have their point where they can bring bulky waste. All we ask the citizens is to try their best to keep the city clean and to turn to the Municipality of Pristina, to the Directorate of Public Services, to ask for help in relation to the treatment of bulky waste”, stated Retkoceri. On March 16, the Municipality of Pristina announced that it was on its way to Zlatar created a transit point which would be used for the disposal of bulk and inert waste.
