The Special Prosecutor’s Office of Kosovo has requested that the three accused Blagoje Spasojevic, Vladimir Tolic and Dushan Maksimovic be found guilty and sentenced to life imprisonment.

The Prosecutor of the Special Prosecutor’s Office, Naim Abazi, during his appearance before the jury in the court session for the attack in Banjska, stated that the events of September 24, 2023 were not isolated, but part of of a well-organized and pre-prepared plan.

In this trial, where Blagoje Spasojević, Vladimir Tolić and Dušan Maksimović are accused, Abazi emphasized that before the attack there were a series of preliminary actions that testify to a structured criminal organization with terrorist aims.

According to him, these actions include attacks on Kosovo Police, journalists and electoral institutions, the placement of barricades, the use of explosive devices, as well as the attack on KFOR, where more than 90 soldiers were injured.

Otherwise, on September 11, 2024, the Special Prosecutor’s Office filed an indictment against Milan Radoicić and 44 others, for the terrorist attack of September 24, 2023 in Banjska Zveçani.

The indictment of the Special Prosecutor’s Office of Kosovo for the armed attack in Banjka charges most of them with terrorism and serious crimes against the constitutional order and security of the Republic of Kosovo.

So far, arrested and under the measure of detention for this case are: Blagoje Spasojevic, Vladimir Toliq and Dushan Maksimovic.

Radoicic is also accused of facilitating and financing the commission of terrorism and money laundering, while the whole group is accused of using violence and heavy weapons to try to divide the northern part of Kosovo – where there are Serb-majority municipalities – and unite it with Serbia.

The indictment describes Radoicić as the “leader of the terrorist group”.

The indictment states that on September 24, 2023, after blocking the road to the village bridge trucks, he and the other participants hid and attacked the Kosovo Police officers who went to remove the trucks and clear the way.

The policeman Afrim Bunjaku was killed in the attack, while the following policemen were injured: Alban Rashiti, Çlirim Shaqiri, Mirsad Kryeziu and Sedat Dushi.

According to the indictment, the attack lasted until 15:00, “when most the vast majority of the group fled through mountain roads towards the Republic of Serbia”.

The indictment states that they were “professionally trained” and that they had entered Kosovo illegally from Serbia, through mountain roads, with dozens of cars, some of which were armored and loaded with heavy weapons, ammunition, rocket launchers, explosives, camouflage military uniforms and other military logistics equipment.
