The head of the Presidency of Religious Affairs of Turkey met with the head of the Islamic Religious Community of North Macedonia

The head of the Presidency of Religious Affairs of Turkey, Safi Arpagus, as part of his visit to North Macedonia, met with the President of the Islamic Religious Community of North Macedonia (BFI), Shaqir Fetahu, reports Anadolu.

After the meeting that took place in the building of the Islamic Religious Community of North Macedonia in the capital Skopje, Arpagus and Fetahu gave a statement about media.

Informing that they are in North Macedonia to participate in an iftar program, Arpagus said: “This is my first time coming to Skopje. At the end of the month there is another meeting. Inshallah, after that we will meet more often. We not only in North Macedonia, but in Africa, Asia, Europe, the Balkans, in all the lands that our ancestors have entrusted to us, we think fulfill the services required by our field of action”.

Arpagus emphasized that they brought greetings and love for North Macedonia from Turkey.

“The Great Mosque of Skopje, the biggest symbol of our cooperation”

Fetahu said that the Presidency of Religious Affairs shows great care for the believers in North Macedonia and that this is proven by the investments made.

Expressing satisfaction for the investments made in the restoration of of the Ottoman mosques in his country, Fetahu said: “Because they, in addition to connecting us with the time of the Ottoman Islamic empire, they are the most beautiful flowers of the Republic of (North) Macedonia. But the greatest symbol of the cooperation of Turkey, the Diyanet and its institutions with our country, with the Islamic community of (North) Macedonia is the beauty of our country called the Great Mosque of Skopje, which is now open to believers and has been welcomed with great joy big”.

Fetahu also emphasized the great importance they attach to the fact that the construction of the Skopje Mosque was carried out with the support of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

Expressing satisfaction for the initiative of the Chairman of the Dijanet Arpagus that the meeting of the Religious Scholars of the Balkans be organized in the capital Skopje, Fetahu emphasized that they will make maximum efforts to make that meeting happen in the best way.
