The Kremlin has continued its propaganda campaign regarding Kosovo, repeating Belgrade’s narratives about the state of the Serbian community and accusing Kosovo institutions of “oppression on ethnic grounds”.

The spokeswoman for the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, has claimed that the Serbs in Kosovo are allegedly being “oppressed before the eyes” of international missions, blaming NATO, the European Union and the UN for what she described as “approving silent” of the developments in Kosovo.

“The suppression of people in Kosovo and M… on ethnic grounds is happening with the silent approval of the international missions located there under the auspices of NATO, the European Union and the UN”, claimed Zakharova, in a statement published by the Russian Foreign Ministry, reports KosovaPress.

She claimed that the situation of the Serbs in Kosovo has become “truly catastrophic”, repeating some of the claims that for years have been promoted by Belgrade and Moscow regarding the developments in the north of Kosovo.

Advancing the Serbian-Russian narratives, she said that Serbs are allegedly “being forced to leave their homes by force”, while she accused the justice institutions in Kosovo of “massive fabrication” of criminal proceedings and “intimidation”.

She also claimed that the number of cases of “clearly disproportionate use of force, up to torture”, while also mentioning the demolition of buildings without permission in Ujman.

In her statement, the spokeswoman for Russian diplomacy also attacked the Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, accusing him of “fanatical and uncontrolled Serbophobia”.

“His political creed is based on fanatical and uncontrolled Serbophobia”, said Zakharova.

She also criticized Western countries, claiming that Their “inaction” is encouraging what it has described as the “ethnic cleansing of Kosovo”.

The statements of the senior Russian official are in line with the traditional attitude of the Kremlin and Belgrade towards Kosovo, which constantly present the situation in the country through narratives that accuse the institutions of allegedly discriminating and pressuring the Serbs.

Russia continues not to recognize Kosovo’s independence and supports Serbia’s position in international forums, including in the Security Council. of the United Nations.
